These ultrasound pics were taken yesterday at my end-of-first-trimester screening. Of course, Jeremy and I think these images are the coolest things we've ever laid eyes on. It's really real now folks!

Will Somebody Please Tell My Husband...

there is a difference between "BISEXUAL" and "UNISEX".

Because we are not finding out the sex of our baby, I'm suggesting we purchase a boy and girl homecoming outfit for the baby to wear when leaving the hospital.

Jeremy keeps telling me we only need to purchase one outfit... one of those "bisexual" outfits.

175 Beats Per Minute

...that's how fast our baby's heartbeat was racing today at our monthly check-up! It's so amazing to hear it. This little tiny bean inside me, moving around and doing flip flops in the amniotic sac...crazy little thing!

One belief that has been around for some time, and even had some acceptance in the medical community at one point, is that the fetal heartbeat differs for boys and girls. If you're having a girl, then the fetal heart rate will be above 140. A boy will have a heart rate below 140. However, I think this is a bunch of hong kong phooey!

My Ass is Spreading

It's official. The coverage once offered by my underwear is no longer there. My crack is sticking out the top and my cheeks are blowing in the wind.

I heard this COULD happen, but thought this might be one pregnancy 'side effect' I would miss. After all, by body has been through all different phases....thin, wafer-thin, plump, thick, chubby...and if one thing remained the same, it was my derriere.

Bummer.
